Italy's Supreme Court recently upheld a man's claim that his daily cell phone use caused his brain tumor, and the court went further in their written decision to point out that studies reporting that the link between cell phone use and cancers are inconclusive are invariably funded by the telecommunications industry - an indisputable conflict of interest. IBE's inimitable founder and eternal inspiration Helmu Ziehe passed away quietly and without pain on 17 January 2013, surrounded by family and friends. His widow and best friend Susannah Ziehe asks that, in lieu of flowers and other heartfelt expressions, donations be made to the Helmut Ziehe Scholarship Fund, a program Helmut put into place before his death to introduce students into IBE's Building Biology curriculum whom might otherwise not have the financial resources to attend. 25 January 2013: Currently in Virginia, as in most localities, the electric company can come on to your property without your permission and change your analogue meter to a radiation emitting smart meter. These meters when installed transmit radiation every few seconds all day long. The World Health Organization and the International Agency for Research on Cancer state that Radio Frequency (RF) electro -magnetic fields (EMF) from non-ionizing radiation-emitting devices such as smart meters are a Class 2-B carcinogen, which means they may cause cancer - the pesticide DDT, leaded gas, and chloroform are also in this category.

BioInitiative Report 2012: A new report by the BioInitiative Working Group 2012 states that evidence for risks to health has increased substantially since 2007 from electromagnetic fields and wireless communication devices (radiofrequency radiation). The Report reviews over 1800 new scientific studies. Cell phone users, parents-to-be, young children and pregnant women are at particular risk. Of particular interest is section one of the report, titled: "Summary for the Public and Conclusions".
